Senior Teaching Fellow, UCL Institute of Education
I am part of the MITA team in the Centre for Inclusive Education, delivering the MITA school improvement course for school leaders and Maximising the Practice of TAs training for school staff. I also teach on the professional National SENCO Award.
I have worked as a teaching assistant, teacher, strategic lead for SEN, a primary headteacher, and deputy headteacher within special shool environments supporting learners with complex and severe learning difficulties.
As a system leader, I am passionate about using research to bring principles into practice, and raising the strategic profile of learners with SEND. I have worked with leaders in primary and secondary in developing their strategic priorities for inclusion and has experience supporting schools through the Teaching School Network, Challenge Partners, local authority and London Leadership Strategy, where I helped develop the SEND Review Guidance and SEN Leaders programme.
